Litera Meat, the sixth pork processing plant established by one of the continent’s leading meat industry groups, Grupo Pini, stands as a testament to this ambition. Located in Binéfar (Huesca, Spain) since 2019, the facility is distinguished by its scale, innovation, and high level of automation, achieved in part through the intelligent technology provided by Kais Software, which has fully digitalized the company’s operations.
Spain’s meat industry is among the strongest in the world, which is why Italy’s Grupo Pini chose the country for one of its most ambitious investments: Litera Meat. Covering a total area of 130,000 m², the facility includes a pork cutting plant with 22 operational processing lines, an accredited in-house laboratory, and a dedicated training center. With a slaughtering capacity of 160,000 animals per week, Litera Meat required an advanced technological solution capable of managing vast amounts of data efficiently and therefore selected Kais to digitalize all of its departments.
Kais has developed a solution specifically designed for the meat industry: Meat System Software, a new generation ERP platform created to address the unique and highly specialized requirements of the sector. Meat System Software is an innovative solution specifically programmed and configured for the meat industry. It provides end-to-end process management and enables companies such as Litera Meat—which must process large volumes of information within short timeframes—to access and manage all operational data in real time. The software implementation has been deployed across Litera Meat’s entire finance department, administrative management, and operational control systems. It supports planning and oversight throughout every area of the facility, including slaughtering, cutting, packaging, processed products, freezing, logistics, quality control, and maintenance.
